Berlin-based sales agent Films Boutique has picked up the international rights for Jairo Eduardo Carrillo’s Little Voices which premiered in Venice Days..
The animated documentary depicts the true stories of four displaced Colombian children, who have grown up surrounded by the conflict between the army and the guerillas, by using and animating original drawings made by the children themselves.
“We fell in love with the movie when we screened it and started negotiations immediately with Jaguar Digital,” says Films Boutique’s president Jean-Christophe Simon. “The film has since made quite a buzz on the Lido and we expect strong sales in Toronto.”
5% of the receipts of the film will be donated directly to UNICEF to support the displaced children.
