The 69th Venice International Film Festival has confirmed four new films to play at the festival.
As widely speculated, Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master will appear in competition (it screens in 70mm). It brings the total number of Competition titles to 18. It screens on Sept 1 in the Sala Grande.
The other additions are
· Come voglio che sia il mio futuro?, Ermanno Olmi’s new project about young people in Italy today (completed by Maurizio Zaccaro) [Out of Competition - Special Screenings]
· Convitto Falcone by Pasquale Scimeca (Special Event) [a tribute to Giovanni Falcone]
· Forgotten (Du hast es versprochen) by Alex Schmidt (Out of Competition), debut feature in Midnight programme.
Venice runs Aug 29-Sept 8.
