UK online DVD rental service Video Island has signed a dealwhich will allow the service to be promoted in many of the UK's 17,000post offices.
The exclusive partnership deal was signed withPostmasternetwork, a commercial group which supports local Postmasters. 90% ofPost Offices are run independently by local Postermasters.
Postmasternetwork members will promote Video Island'sonline DVD rental service on their retail counters using specially designedPoint of Sale and active promotion will be driven by a number of incentives.Initially, the service will be available from 500 Postmasternetwork members,and then rolled out nationally to the entire network.
The move should make it easier for customers in ruralcommunities who do not have easy access to a video rental shop to rent DVDs.
