Yorkshire, which hosted this summer's Indian International Film Academy awards (IIFAs), is now hosting a new shoot by Indian film-makers.
Vikram Bhatt is directing 1920 with a 17-day shoot in Bolton Abbey, Allerton Castle, Bramham Park and Ripley Castle.
The film is a supernatural love story about an Anglo Indian woman and Indian man, who move into a haunted house in the wilderness. Allerton Castle is a key location.
Regional screen agency Screen Yorkshire worked with Bhatt and his team to source locations, secure permissions and deal with local hotels. Screen Yorkshire is also offering several trainee placements on the production crew.
Bhatt said: ''The house is one of the key characters in this film - as soon as I saw Allerton Castle, I knew it was the perfect location. So far the shoot has gone very smoothly and the crew have really enjoyed their time here. Hopefully this film will show other Indian filmmakers what Yorkshire has to offer and we will see many more films made here in the future.''
