Voltage Pictures has acquired all international rights to Haxan Films' Seventh Moon, a new thriller written and directed by The Blair Witch Project's Eduardo Sanchez.
The film stars Amy Smart, Tim Chiou and Dennis Chan and had its world premiere recently at Fantastic Fest in Austin. It will next screen on Oct 11 at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain.
Cinetic Media is representing domestic rights on the film.
The film follows an American couple honeymooning in China who come across the Hungry Ghost festival that honours the spirits of the dead and end up trapped in a remote village trying to survive the night.
Sanchez wrote the script based on a story by Jamie Nash and Sanchez. Producers were Matt Compton, Gregg Hale and Robin Cowie.
