Nicolas Chartier’s Voltage Pictures will commence sales at AFM next week on the Milla Jovovich psychological thriller Faces In The Crowd.
Julien Magnat will direct Forecast Pictures, Radar Films and Minds Eye Entertainment’s tale of the survivor of an attack by a serial killer who loses the ability to recognise faces while the killer pursues her to finish off the job.
Principal photography is set to commence in Canada in March 2010. The French-Canadian team of Jean-Charles Lévy (Forecast), Clément Miserez (Radar) and Kevin DeWalt are producing alongside Hollywood-based Scott Mednick and Sylvain White.
White, whose credits include The Losers and Stomp The Yard, will mentor Julien Magnat in his English-language directorial debut. Magnat earned a student short Oscar nomination for The All-New Adventures Of Chastity Blade and the Frenchman’s debut feature was Bloody Mallory.
“We’re delighted to be working with Milla Jovovich on this project”, Lévy said. “Milla is a stunningly dynamic and brilliant actress; she is a perfect complement to Julien’s writing and directing skills. His vision for the movie is really special. We are also very happy to be back in Canada for the third time in three years to shoot our latest feature.”
Brandt Joel from WME Entertainment brokered the deal with Steve Warren from HJTJ and Steve Saltzman from Loeb & Loeb.
