VueXtreme launches in three venues this spring, rollout to continue through 2012.

Vue is adding to the number of VueXtreme screens at its cinemas across the country.

Vue Islington will open one of the super-sized screens on Thursday while the Finchley Road and Bolton Vue venues will get the screens later this month.

The VueXtreme in Islington measures more than 16 metres wide and seven metres high.

The format has already rolled out at venues in the west London Westfield, Plymouth and Bristol.
