Brazilian filmmaker Walter Salles will act as patron for the 2007 edition of Europe Day at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
This year marks the fifth year that European Union culture and audio visual ministers will convene in Cannes to discuss issues currently facing the industry. The ministers will meet this year with film professionals and talent to talk about new distribution methods and their impact on the process and economics of filmmaking.
Ministers who have confirmed their presence include those from Belgium, Austria, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Portugal.
