Paul Taylor's South African orphans documentary We Are Together (Thina Simunye) has won the 6th annual Tribeca Film Festival's Cadillac Award.

The audience award was announced before the closing night premiere of HBO's documentary The Gates.

Taylor, who produced with Teddy Liefer, earns a $25,000 cash prize for his account of the children of the South Africa Agape Orphanage, many of whom have seen their families devastated by AIDS, as they perform in the Children Of Agape Choir.

'Audience reaction has been incredible and we've had a great festival,' Taylor said as he accepted the award last night on stage with Leifer and several of the oprhans. 'Having some of the children from Agape with us during the festival has been very special. Everywhere they go people fall in love with them. This is their award.'

Taylor and Leifer will dedicate the $25,000 cash prize to school fees for the Agape children through their RISE Foundation.

We Are Together also received a 2007 Special Jury Mention. For a full list of Tribeca winners visit the official website at www.tribecafilmfestival.org.
