UK education charity FILMCLUB is giving school pupils the chance to quiz film-makers Werner Herzog, Joe Dante and Frank Cottrell Boyce via webcasts.
Pupils will be able to take part in the webcasts with film professionals, submitting their questions via Twitter. Herzog (Grizzly Man, Into the Abyss) and Dante (Gremlins, The Hole) will be taking part on March 27 and 28 respectively, with British screenwriter Cottrell Boyce’s Q&A announced for 30th May.
Following recommendations made in the Government’s Cultural Education Review, the webcasts supplement the Close Encounters program currently run by FILMCLUB, in which film professionals visit schools across the country on a weekly basis.
The charity currently has 250,000 members across 7,000 schools nationwide and aims to give children from all backgrounds access to film professionals while still at school.
FILMCLUB recently branched out into Northern Ireland.
