Invictus screenwriter Anthony Peckham will receive the Writers Guild Of America West’s (WGAW) 2010 Paul Selvin Award.
The award recognises written work that “embodies the spirit of constitutional rights and civil liberties.”
Peckham will collect his award along with other honourees at the 2010 Writers Guild Awards’ West Coast ceremony on February 20 .
“Anthony Peckham’s screenplay for Invictus perfectly illustrates what the Paul Selvin Award stands for, expertly conveying how only a few men can unite to impact positive change, and have that change resonate around the world,” WGAW president John Wells said.
Peckham recently co-wrote Sherlock Holmes and is currently writing the undersea adventure thriller Deep Sea Cowboys for producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
His upcoming film work includes screenplays for The Tourist and The Limit. Credits include Don’t Say A Word
