Forget the Tiger competition, it’s all about the ping-pong competition today in Rotterdam.
After the 14:45 screening of Michael Tully’s Ping Pong Summer at Pathe 3, there will be a ping pong (aka table tennis) tournament from 17:00 onwards at the Schouwburg.
Rond De Tafel, which celebrates Rotterdam’s ping-pong culture year-round, is organising the event with VICE. There will be music by Job Smit and Boys Keep Swingin’ and the fun times are free.
Start practicing your technique now if you plan to take on members of the IFFR Programming team. Tully, who will be playing in the tourney, advises: “Block out the music, forget the last point—especially if you lost it—and focus on the task at hand: winning the current point.”
Here is more on the film and an interview with director Michael Tully.
