Withoutabox, the worldwide online network whose services include afilm festival submission system that connects filmmakers to more than 2,000events including AFI FEST, the Edinburgh International Film Festival and theDubrovnik International Film Festival, is expanding its reach with theappointment of three international festival liaisons.
Mary Davies will oversee the UK and Europe region, Toni Powellwill oversee Asia and Oceania, and Daniel Gonzales takes charge of SouthAmerica and Mexico.
Each will be responsible for establishing new relationships withfestivals and events that expand the services the company delivers to itsmembers.
Withoutabox has added several festivals to its database.Subscribers can now make direct contact through the site to the World of ComedyInternational Film Festival in Canada, the WT International Film Festival inNorway, Borges En Curt Film Festival in Spain, and the Village Digital CinemaFestival in Portugal.
Company co-founders David Straus and Joe Neulight are developingthe system to allow filmmakers and festivals to transact entry fees and ticketsales in their native currencies. In addition to US$ transactions, Withoutaboxwill begin to collect and settle funds on behalf of its worldwide clients inEuros, the UK Pound, the Canadian Dollar, and the Australian Dollar.
