HollyShorts has announced that Dan Carrillo Levy’s Zero Hour will open the 9th annual HollyShorts Film Festival on Aug 15.
Thomas Jane and Phil Joanou will also screen the short Punisher: Dirty Laundry.
Zero Hour, starring Camilla Belle and Jaime Camil, centres on a young couple who take a fateful road trip. Oscar nominee Guillermo Arriaga wrote the screenplay.
Punisher: Dirty Laundry, written by Chad St John and directed by Phil Joanou, will also make its big screen debut after a long presence on the internet. Dirty Laundry is an unofficial Punisher short film described as a “love letter for all Frank Castle and Punisher fans.”
“Dan Carillo Levy is a next-generation visionary filmmaker and we couldn’t be more pleased that he’s chosen HollyShorts as the platform to showcase Zero Hour,” said festival co-founders and co-directors Daniel Sol and Theo Dumont.
“Punisher: Dirty Laundry has been the topic of conversation online quite a while and we can’t wait to have Thomas Jane and Phil Joanou present this Raw Studios project on the big screen on opening night. This opening day programme will set the precedent for an entire week of incredible projects and festivities at HollyShorts.”
The full line-up will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information visit the official website.
