International Film Trust (IFT) has sold all overseas territories to Peter Sollett’s upcoming comedy You Shall Know Our Velocity starring Daniel Radcliffe.
IFT president Christian de Gallegos struck a deal with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions for Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand, CIS, Scandinavia, South Korea and Latin America.
Further deals closed in the UK (Solo Media), China (HGC), the Middle East (Shooting Stars), Greece, Turkey and India (Tanweer), Baltic States (Hea Film), Bulgaria, Romania and the former Yugoslavia (Programs4media), Hungary (Cinetel), Poland (Kinoswiat), Malaysia (Soraya), Philippines (Mediaquest), Singapore (Shaw), Taiwan (Deepjoy), and Thailand (Dream’s West).
You Shall Know Our Velocity is based on Wells Tower’s adaptation of the novel by Dave Eggers about a mismatched pair who embark on a world trip to randomly give away an insurance pay-out to those in need.
The project is in pre-production and scheduled to shoot in spring 2015.
Tim Perell produces for his production company Process alongside IFT founder Michael Benaroya for Benaroya Pictures.
“Buyers flocked to You Shall Know Our Velocity,” said de Gallegos. “Daniel Radcliffe playing the part of Will in Dave Eggers’ much-loved story was a huge draw card.”
CAA and UTA represent US rights to the film.
