Belgium, LA and Amsterdam-based production company Caviar Films, whose My Queen Karo recently received its world premiere in Toronto, has lined up its first English-language feature Missoura.
The project is a horror thriller set in an idyllic Midwestern farm that holds a dark secret. Ben Zlotucha, a director on Caviar’s commercials roster, wrote the screenplay and will direct. Caviar has pre-sold Benelux rights to Bridge Entertainment.
“Ben is a gifted film-maker with a unique and hip vision for this project,” Caviar’s producer and managing partner Bert Hamelinck, said. “We’ve done great commercial work with him and we look forward to continuing a creative partnership in the feature arena.”
My Queen Karo recently sold to Bridge Entertainment for Benelux. Dorothee Van Den Berghe’s film depicts the moral dilemmas of free love and familial loyalty among Amsterdam’s bohemian squatters community.
Anna Franziska Jager, Matthias Schoenaerts and Deborah Francois star and ICM and Doc & Film International are handling domestic and worldwide sales, respectively.
