Woody Allen will receive the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Cecil B DeMille Award at the 71st Annual Golden Globes on Jan 22, 2014.

Allen is currently riding high with the US hit Blue Jasmine featuring Cate Blanchette and drew plaudits for his performance as a pimp in John Turturro’s Toronto premiere Fading Gigolo.

Previous Cecil B DeMille Award recipients include Jody Foster, Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Michael Douglas and Anthony Hopkins.
