Dan Grabiner has been given creative responsibility for some of Amazon Prime Video’s key European territories, Screen’s sister Broadcast has learnt.
Under his new title of head of originals, UK & Northern Europe, Grabiner will continue to oversee the British team but will also take on responsibility for Germany, the Nordics and the Netherlands.
He will also lead on any future endeavours in Eastern Europe.
Grabiner’s promotion follows the departure of Georgia Brown from the streamer in August 2022, though his new role is not a direct replacement. Brown’s job was head of European originals.
After joining Amazon Prime Video from ITN Productions in 2019 as head of unscripted, Grabiner was promoted to head of UK originals in 2021.
In March 2022, he helped spearhead the Prime Video Pathway, which is investing £10m in training and employment opportunities in collaboration with the National Film and Television School.
His team have seen recent success with drama The Devil’s Hour, which was recommissioned for a further two series. Amazon also won a Broadcast award in 2021 for the first series of Clarkson’s Farm.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed Grabiner’s new role.
