Michael Grandage’s My Policeman starring Harry Styles and Emma Corrin will have its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival in September, as the autumn festival lineups continue to take shape.
The Prime Video title is adapted by Ron Nyswaner from Bethan Roberts’ 2012 novel of the same name; it will debut on the streaming service on November 4.
Styles plays a gay policeman, who along with a teacher (played by Corrin) and museum curator (David Dawson) embarks on an emotional journey amid the tides of history, liberty and forgiveness in 1950s Britain. The film then takes up the same characters 40 years later as they attempt to repair the damage of the past.
Producers are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robbie Rogers, Cora Palfrey and Philip Herd.
It is the latest addition to the TIFF lineup, which has been revealed bit-by-bit over recent weeks. Next week will see the Venice lineup announcement, which is expected to feature another title with Styles – Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, also starring Florence Pugh.
TIFF 2022 runs from September 8-18.
