Searchlight Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for Sam Mendes’ Empire Of Light starring Olivia Colman and Colin Firth. 

Set in an English seaside town during the 1980’s, the film surrounds a love story and an old cinema. Joining Colman and Firth is Screen Star of Tomorrow 2020 Micheal Ward, Toby Jones, Tanya Moodie, Tom Brooke and Crystal Clarke.

The film will have its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (September 8-18) before its European premiere at the BFI London Film Festival (LFF, October 5-16).

It is released in the UK via Searchlight on January 13.
