Executives from Paramount and Sony are among those confirmed to speak at the Emerging Cinema Markets Conference 2019 (ECM19), which will be held in Istanbul from November 19 to 21.
ECM19 will focus on the emerging markets in Turkey, the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe and Africa.
Cameron Saunders, executive vice president EMEA at Paramount Pictures, will give one of three keynote speeches on emerging cinema markets, alongside Debbie Stanford-Kristiansen, CEO at Gulf region cinema chain Novo Cinemas, and Arturo Guillén, senior vice-president and global managing director at analytics firm Comscore Movies.
Oliver Pasch, sales director at Sony Digital Cinema Europe, will host a session called ‘Diversification of the cinema experience through technology’.
Panellists for the session include Till Cussmann, senior vice-president sales & GM Europe at cinema technology company Vista; and Alessandra Pavan Bernacchi, senior manager, theatre development, Europe and Africa at IMAX Corporation.
The event will also include a trade show on November 21, with a keynote speech from Andrew Cripps, president of international distribution at Warner Bros Studios, via video.
There will also be an ‘industry focus’ panel looking at the cinema business in Turkey; a ‘big picture’ focus on Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council; and a dedicated Africa programme, with a spotlight on key markets including Nigeria and west Africa.
